Renovation of the 5 story office building is also a part of this project. It will house many of the theater support spaces and administrative offices. It is really starting to read as “one piece”.
∞The ceiling above the balcony is framed in. This ceiling is angled for acoustical purposes, but it also works to open up the balcony visually.
∞Looking down into the stagehouse. The far masonry wall is the rigging wall, in front of it is the loading gallery (top) and the pinrail gallery (lower). Below you can see an opening through the floor which forms the rigging chase.
∞The catwalks have been placed, the CMU walls of the sound and light locks are going in. Next up- interior finishes!
∞The plywood formwork has been removed, the roof steel has been erected, the hangers are being installed for the catwalks - the theater is taking shape
∞The view down Union Avenue from the landing of the cantilevered stair. The area between the hanger on the left and the framing on the right will be infilled with glazing.
